Garden tour

As the season moves into Fall, the garden is still one of my favorite places to be. I thought I would share a tour of my garden because it has always been a place of inspiration and relaxation for me.

Such a calming thing to sit in the garden and watch the butterflies and bees hop from one flower to the other. It is also a fun thing for me to work in the garden. Taking care of plants and making sure they are neat and tidy and happy is very rewarding. Seeing healthy plants and the beauty they create is satisfying to my soul.

My garden sits behind my house along a cement patio that leads to the house, wraps around the garage and is connected to our driveway. Let me give you a tour of my garden!

Behind the garage is a stone patio my husband and I designed and put in. Some chairs and a fire pit make it a great place to hang out and enjoy a campfire and s’mores.

On one side I have a raised bed for planting vegetables and marigolds. This year we planted eggplant, bell peppers and brussel sprouts.

On the other side, in the corner, I have a metal trough that I turned into a plant container for small root vegetables, leaf lettuces, herbs, and marigolds.

Coming around the garage towards the house I have two beds flanking the entry to a pergula that is attached to the garage. Sun loving hydrangea a weeping sruce and herbs fill the space. Some goldenrod adds color amongst the herbs: garlic chives, chcolate mint, wild oregano and lemon balm.

A small outdoor patio table holds more herbs: cilanto, terragon, thyme, and a garlic chive for gifting.

This is my view sitting on the swing. A beautiful place to unwind and be inspired for my next painting or sketch.

I love filling pots with flowers and moving them around for decorations. We decorate the garden with pumpkins and gourds in the Fall time. They look especially nice with the potted flowers.
